Sampling of all types of dairy products is necessary to ensure quality, safety, and specific attributes such as butterfat content. All types of dairy - cream, milk, whey, cheese - can be sampled in all of its various forms, whether liquid, slurry or powder.
Sampling often takes place at receiving docks and/or transfer points. Because of the composite type sampling technique that is used, it is not necessary to agitate a milk tank prior to sampling.
