Sentry Saf-T-Vise products offers a unique combination of our patented locking collet and an electrical resistance or linear polarization resistance probe for applications that need continual monitoring or instant corrosion monitoring.
Our probes can be placed into and retrieved from a pressurized pipeline without interruption of the system. Like all the Sentry Saf-T-Vise products, they offer easy insertion and retraction. Probes are offered in flush, loop and tubular styles, with data loggers and remote data transmission terminals also available.

The Sentry MM-30 ER insertable & retractable electrical resistance (ER) probe measures the effects of both electrochemical and mechanical components of corrosion. The metal loss of the probe results in a proportionate increase on resistance in the probe.
The MM-30 ER probe provides an online method of monitoring the rate of corrosion and the extent of total metal loss for any pressurized system made of metal. The probe’s sensing element is of a composition similar to that of the process equipment.
The MM-30 ER probe is uniquely suited to corrosive environments with either poor or non-continuous electrolytes such as vapors, gases, soils, wet hydrocarbons and nonaqueous liquids. The probe may be installed permanently to provide continuous information or may be portable to gather periodic data from several locations.
The Sentry MM-30 LPR insertable & retractable linear polarization resistance (LPR) probe offers an effective method of measuring corrosion electrochemically. The corrosion rate is calculated by monitoring the relationship between electrochemical potential and current generated between electrically charged electrodes in a process stream. LPR probe use is most effective in aqueous solutions.
The chief advantage of using an LPR probe is its almost instant measurement of the corrosion rate. These quick results allow an operator to evaluate process changes and are helpful in monitoring the effectiveness of a program such as chemical usage selection and quantities.
